You are invited to attend the annual 1st grade Poetry Out Loud competition held on October 4th beginning at 1:30. These competitions will be held in the classrooms of Mrs. Christensen and Miss Snapp. We are tight on space so we would appreciate it if you did not bring siblings.
You will be asked to vote for your
top 3 favorites. Of course one of those
favorites will be your own child!
When the competition is finished,
you may check your child out of school for the rest of the day, if desired!
Information about the school
contest will be sent home with the winners of the Class competitions the following
day.
The poem needs to be a published
poem, appropriate for the age and ability of a first grade student. It must be
memorized. It needs to be presented in a easy to understand manner. No props
can be used. Good body language, voice
inflection and gestures are encouraged!
We need a copy
of your child’s poem by September 30th.
We will practice a few times at school before the competition.
